Barbara De Pirro
“Plastic in its design to be indestructible has become…. in our waste, environmentally destructible. I’m always looking for new ways to reuse and recreate with this material. The transformation of reclaimed plastic bags into organically inspired art, seemed not only a creative challenge but a poetic statement. Our society has a general lack of consciousness in regards to plastic and its destructive affects on our natural environment and wildlife. The excess is huge, the supply is endless, the basic material is unattractive…but once transformed, it takes on a whole new existence. Saving the planet one bag at a time." Barbara De Pirro is a Painter, Photographer and Eco-artist. She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest, perched on the edge of the Puget Sound, where she continues to live closely with nature.
